Hunting, Fixing, Ho-hum...

I'm job hunting, and found that I REALLY hate interviewing. I went to a local temp. agency, and found that I was the one not impressed! Is it okay to be the one not impressed with a job seeking agency?? I am thankful for my friend Asarae for the BEAUTIFUL and professional dress shirts that fit me wonderfully! I have basically a whole new wardrobe!! I need to get more hangers though.

For some reason, my toilet wasn't working right. It overflowed once on me, and then it took forever for the bowl to drain. I got pissed off (sorry for the pun), and plunged the heck out of it. I FIXED IT!! All by myself. I's is so proud!!

We're surviving day by day. We go to our appointments, and do what we need to do. I'm craving routine--a job. I'm also finding that I want to create something beautiful, drawing/artwork wise. I don't trust my drawing abilities though. I want bright bold colors. I need to create something bright.

Random thought: During the day when we're not around, my teddy bear (Ted) wraps himself up in my soft fuzzy fleece blanket and fuzzy socks, and dances a strip tease to the song: "I'm cozy and I know it!" (A parody of LMFAO's "I'm sexy and I know it")  hehehe...try getting THAT visual out of your head!! :)

Updates!

I am LOVING my new car!! I haven't had to fill on gas yet!

My laptop is on the fritz, due to Sabrea wanting to "help me clean." The keyboard got Windexed, and while it kinda works, it kinda doesn't. I can push the keys, but it's anyone's guess as to what letter/number will come up. I spent the $10 on a USB keyboard at Walmart...bonus: it has a 10-key!

I had child support court yesterday, and the other party had forgotten about it. I'm pretty sure the magistrate is going to go with the proposed order. "The other party" requested the hearing, and didn't bother to show up...doesn't look good on his part. I'll know more in 30 days.

I had an interview at a local hospital today for an office position. As lame as it sounds, this is something I have been dreaming about for many years. I was the last one interviewed, and will hear an offer by the end of the week. :) Positive thinking...

I received one of the two books off of BN.com. "Creating A Charmed Life" by Victoria Moran is every busy woman's guide to not only surviving life, but ENJOYING it! I'm still waiting on "Living A Charmed Life" by the same author. I have borrowed it from the library, but you can't highlight in library books! lol.

Everything is being taken one step at a time, one day at a time, and sometimes one minute at a time. I haven't forgotten to breathe yet, so everything's good!!

NEW CAR and new issues

My dad came through for me! He got me a car! Now I can go on with the next leg of my journey of my life! It doesn't look like much, but the ride is wonderful. My mechanic uncle is fixing some issues today, and it will be here this weekend. My dad is even covering the insurance for me until I can get on my feet. I am blessed!

With the happiness, comes something else... My step-dad gave me a lecture of how he had to work for everything, and he's glad that I got what I "wanted" and how lucky I am. My mom (who has been financially helping me), gave me a lecture of how I won't be "tooling around," (my words, not hers) and I should be looking for work. I knew not everyone would be as excited as I am about getting a car, but how do I deal with those that give me lectures that are unneeded? I know I need to work. I know I'm blessed and lucky. I know and am grateful for everything everyone can do to help me. I don't want to be rude to my step-dad and mom, because that would be inappropriate, but should I say something or let it go? I did tell my step-dad: "If I want your opinion or advice, I'll ask for it. Don't judge until you've walked in my shoes." I didn't say it meanly, just plainly. My step-dad has been against my mom helping me at all. He thinks it's enabling me.

**Just to vent: when my step-dad has been in the middle of a messy divorce, is raising a 4 year old daughter without any help from the father, is out of work, has past experiences like mine (not positive-but learning experiences), and has no resources to live; THEN he can talk about his opinions.  There, just had to get that off my chest. I've been bottling that up for a couple days now.

How do I deal with this new situation? I don't need these opinions, but I can't be rude. (Because that would be just, well, rude.) lol.

Just Because

I decided to bake a cake. There is no reason. I mixed up the white cake batter, spread it in the pan (left a generous portion on the spatula), licked the spatula, and I'm now smelling a wonderful baking smell fill my house.  FYI-I love Cold Stone Creamery's Cake Batter ice cream. All this, just because. It's going to be amazing...
just because. :)

Chocolate Frosting is also waiting for when the cake cools.

Just Because It's Good!

The Story of the Flying Monkeys

Last night Sabrea was playing at the neighbor’s place while I got groceries. She found a small box and stuck a cat toy in it. She then closed up the end and handed it to me. Knowing what she had done, I cautiously opened the box and exclaimed: “There’s flying monkeys in there!” Sabrea giggled and the legend started.

After asking her dozens of questions, we figured out that flying monkeys went on vacation to Kimmers’ home. They ate carrots. They did NOT fly (rather they hopped) and enjoyed their water tremendously! I thought it sounded like they were bunny rabbits, but Sabrea swore that they were flying monkeys. They rather enjoyed their box-home as well. They are not big creatures, and several of them fit inside the box. They are “teeny-tiny.” Not only did we have adult flying monkeys, we “adopted” baby flying monkeys as well! Imagine my surprise when I had my hands full with invisible complex creatures that I knew nothing about! Sabrea calmed my fears though. She insisted on taking them home to go to bed. They sleep in a “nice, cozy bed.”

After digging out the cat toy from the box and returning it to Marbles, we captured all the flying monkeys, and closed them carefully in their box. Sabrea was more than happy to bring them back downstairs to put them to bed. (So I didn’t have to fight with her to go downstairs).

Once we got downstairs, Sabrea immediately took the box to her bed and gently dumped out the flying monkeys. I asked Sabrea if she was ready to go to bed. “I can’t. The flying monkeys are on my pillow.” We walked into her room, and sure enough, the flying monkeys were camping out on her pillow! I put my hand out, and they climbed into it. I took them to an even cozier place to sleep. The belly of Sabrea’s stuffed lamb made a perfect flying monkey bed for the adults and the babies. We whispered our goodnights and prayers so we wouldn’t wake the babies. After I tucked Sabrea in, I heard her singing very softly. I asked her what she was doing. “Singing lullaby for the baby flying monkeys. They was crying.” I smiled softly, and hoped that she would wake up forgetting the flying monkeys.

It didn’t happen! The flying monkeys did sleep in, but Sabrea is still baby-sitting them. The babies get hungry, and I don’t have any baby flying monkey food. Sabrea pretends to use her spoon to “feed” the babies.

So goes the legend of the flying monkeys…anyone have any carrots?

This is the original carrying case of the infamous Flying Monkeys. Apparently, they enjoy it so much that mommy is not allowed to throw it away!

Never Trust New Candy

Since Sabrea's Christmas candy was all gone, we still had some Halloween candy left. She said she wanted a treat, so evil mommy that I am, I gave her a new candy.
She claimed she liked them, but her face showed differently.

Sabrea claims she still likes Sour Patch Kids, but I think it's just because her "boyfriend" Zachary loves them.

Chef Boyardee Eat Your Heart Out!!

I really like my new chef knives!! This is the second time I got to cut up chicken EASILY! (Try cutting a cantaloupe with a pocketknife, and you'll see what I mean--been there, done that.) I LOVE chicken alfredo, and thanks to the neighbors down the hall, I made a HUGE pot of it. Chef Boyardee, eat your heart out! Chef Jade is in the house!!

Sabrea even enjoyed a bowl! She was kinda of was confused when I said it was chicken and noodles...she was expecting soup! :) Mommy has all kinds of tricks in her bag! Even though the pic looks like she's making an icky face, she really did like it! lol.
