My Truths

These are my truths. I try to live up to them. This will give you insight into my life.

  • I will not tolerate liars. If I am not good enough to know the truth, that person is not worth my time.
  • Don't cheat on me. When I am with a person, it's because I want to be with them. I would expect the same respect.
  • I don't want to hear about my ex-husband. I know he exists, and I don't need a daily update. If it doesn't affect my daughter or myself, I don't want to know.
  • I respect people and things. I expect the same in return.
  • I am a firm believer in karma. Whatever actions/thoughts/energies a person puts out in the universe, it will come back to the person eventually.
  • Be kind and polite. Treat everyone as you would like to be treated. This includes people and animals. Everyone is fighting some kind of battle.
  • I believe in ghosts and spirits. This will not change.
  • Knowledge is something no one can ever take away from a person.
  • My daughter is, and always will be, my baby. Mess with her, and I will go into "Mama-bear mode."
  • There are times that I am NOT okay. Leave me be. I will sort it out on my own or ask for help.
  • My friends can be strange. They are MY friends, and I can be fiercely protective of them. I love my friends.
  • Communication is always the key. If you can't express yourself, you will explode.
  • I am a writer. I have had poetry published. I can write better than I speak at times.
  • I have had many life experiences. I do not regret any of them. They made me into who I am today.
  • Just because I dislike an action or behavior, does not mean I dislike the person as a whole in most cases.
  • Live. Laugh. Love
  • I can act like a child at times. I enjoy the perspective and simplicity. We can learn a lot from children.
  • Please respect my pets. They live here, you don't. Please don't complain about cat hair.
  • Yes, I am a welfare mom. I am not a druggie nor am I a drunk. I am not lazy. I'm doing the best I can with the hand I have been dealt. PS- I'm not a gambler either. lol
  • I enjoy time by myself. I don't often get lonely or bored.
  • Please leave drama at the door. My home is a calm and peaceful retreat. I would like it to remain that way.
  • I hate asking for help. I like being capable of helping others, and greatly appreciate help that comes my way.
  • I am not perfect. I never claim to be. I will never attain that. I'm doing the best I can.
  • Play by the rules. Win or lose, at least you tried honestly.
  • I will make mistakes. I do learn from them. Sometimes repetition is required.
  • I am a strong woman. If you can't handle that fact, it's your problem--not mine.
  • I am honest. I try my best not to lie. If you have a problem with that, again, it's your problem--not mine.
  • Be proud of who you are. There is NO one on this earth exactly like you. Be yourself, and enjoy it.
  • I try to live life simply. Sometimes this works, sometimes it does not. Don't borrow trouble from tomorrow. Live in the moment. (I'm still working on this.)
  • I am a work in progress. Please be gentle with me.
  • I am diagnosed with mental illness. This is under control. I am not ashamed or damaged. It is a part of who I am. I live with it every day, just as some diabetics live dependent on insulin.
  • I have eccentricities. I like rocks. I dodge squirrels. I fear the unknown. I hate change. I put my right shoe on first. I collected teddy bears and erasers.
  • I am an animal lover. I would adopt them all if I had the means (time, energy, money...)
  • I clean other people's houses--usually without asking--usually with the excuse, "It was bugging me."
  • Spelling and grammar are important to me. I will try my best not to correct you, but I slip sometimes.
  • I am in pain every day. I do not rely on medications. I try not to complain. I am stubborn when it comes to doctors and dentists.
  • I am an educated woman. I have two college degrees. Don't try to bullshit me.
  • Do your best. If you do something half-assed, you'll wind up doing it again.
  • Clean up the earth. Take some pride in the planet. We only have one.
  • I enjoy creating things with my own two hands. It rarely turns out the way I plan. The essence is in the journey, not the destination.
  • Once in a while, take the scenic route (and not only when driving).
  • Respect your teachers in and out of the classroom. A teacher can be anyone--even children.
  • Music can make or break a mood. Choose wisely.
  • Take time to be amazed at natural wonders (butterflies, hummingbirds, ants, flowers, trees, etc.)
  • Beauty can be found everywhere. Just look for it.
  • Children are our future. Cherish, praise, and protect the little ones.
  • Family is absolutely important. Money, land, and possessions can be replaced. Family cannot.
  • Kid's movies have adult messages. Watch closely.
